Tulcea’s city center is easy to explore on foot, while buses and taxis are available for longer distances. The harbor is the starting point for many boat excursions in the Danube Delta: schedules, routes, and duration vary depending on the season and water level. If you’re traveling by car, keep in mind that in some parts of the Delta, travel continues only by water.
Spring and early autumn are pleasant times to explore the Delta and watch migratory birds, with generally milder temperatures.
