and Kastro

The main village is a maze of whitewashed lanes, little squares, and traditional houses. In the heart of town stands the Kastro, Kimolos’s ancient fortified core.

The island’s small port welcomes ferries and immediately sets the laid-back pace of Kimolos. Along the waterfront, you’ll find tavernas and cafés overlooking the boats and the sea.

Skiadi Rock

This natural formation, shaped by the wind, resembles a giant stone mushroom and is one of the island’s most distinctive landscapes. It can be reached on a hike inland.

Prassa Beach

Known for its pale sand and crystal-clear waters in turquoise shades, it is one of the most scenic beaches on Kimolos. The coast’s bright color is linked to the light-colored rocks in the area.

This picturesque fishing settlement preserves the syrmata, small storage sheds carved into or built against the rock to shelter boats. The transparent waters and sea caverns make the coastline especially striking.

On the southwestern coast, is an archaeological area linked to the island’s ancient settlement and necropolis. Offshore, submerged remains can be seen when the sea is calm.
