Day 1 – From the port to the villages and beaches of Kimolos

10:00–21:00 Light walks and short transfers

Discover the port and the old town, then spend the afternoon in two different coastal landscapes on the island.

10:00

Psathi (Port)

Start in Psathi, the main port, with a stroll along the seafront and a look at the boats and the bay: allow about 45–60 minutes. If you arrive by ferry, leave some extra time for luggage and connections; for breakfast or coffee, budget roughly 3–8 €. The center of Chorio can be reached on foot in about 15–20 minutes, along a short uphill walk.

If you have luggage, arrange storage before heading out for the walk.

11:00

Chorio (The Center)

Allow about two hours for Chorio, exploring the alleys, whitewashed houses, and views of the historic core on foot; take your time and watch out for uneven ground in some passages. Fit in a light lunch here, with an estimated cost of 12–25 € per person, depending on choice and availability. To continue to Prassa, allow about 15–25 minutes by car or scooter; on foot, the route is more demanding and takes longer.

For any visits to buildings or local collections, check the official website for availability, access, and tickets.

14:00

Prassa Beach

Set aside about two and a half hours for Prassa Beach: take a swim if sea conditions allow and enjoy the contrast between the pale shoreline and the blue water. Beach access is generally just an open-air stop; allow 0–10 € for any drinks or services, and don’t assume facilities are available. Bring water, sun protection, and suitable shoes for the path; to reach Goupa and Rema, plan on about 20–30 minutes by car or scooter.

Check sea conditions on site and whether any services are available before relying on them.

18:00

Goupa and Rema

End the day with a walk along the coastal stretch of Goupa and Rema, observing the houses and boat shelters carved into the rock, characteristic of this corner of the island. Allow about 90 minutes to explore the area and stop for photos of the coast; access to the sea areas depends on local conditions and should be assessed carefully. You can have dinner nearby or head back toward Psathi, with an estimated 15–30 € per person for the meal and around 10–25 € for a taxi, depending on the route and availability.

Respect private spaces and do not enter the boat shelters or properties without permission.

  • For coastal stops, consider a car or scooter; check availability on site, road conditions, and transport alternatives.
  • Bring water, a hat, sunscreen, and shoes with soles suitable for trails and uneven surfaces.
  • Before swimming, check the wind, waves, and local conditions; bring what you need even if you’re not expecting beach services.
