One destination.
A thousand ways to live it.
Kassandra, the westernmost promontory of the Chalcidice peninsula, wins you over with bright beaches, fragrant pine forests, and charming villages. Between archaeological sites, small harbors, and thermal springs, it offers an inviting mix of relaxation and culture.
Worth seeing, worth remembering.
This traditional village overlooking the Toroneos Gulf is known for its stone houses, cobbled lanes, and sea views. Stop in the central square or stroll down to the lookout point.
An elegant marina surrounded by shops, restaurants, and venues overlooking the yachts. It’s a pleasant place for an evening stroll and to enjoy the resort atmosphere.
The medieval tower dominates the small harbor of Nea Fokea and is one of the coast’s most recognizable landmarks. Nearby, you’ll also find striking views of the sea and the bay.
This sandy spit stretches out into the sea and offers sweeping views of the Toroneos Gulf. Its shape and colors change with the currents, making it one of the most scenic coastal walks in Kassandra.
The baths of Loutra Agias Paraskevis are known for their warm-water pools and panoramic coastal setting. They make a relaxing stop after a day spent between beaches and villages.

Stop after stop.
A well-planned trip.
Getting around
The car is the most practical way to explore the peninsula and reach beaches and villages with fewer transport links; in high season, however, consider traffic and parking difficulties. From Thessaloniki, you can get there by bus with KTEL services heading directly to Halkidiki, but frequencies and local connections may vary, especially outside summer. Check the updated timetables before you set off and don’t assume there are evening services. For short trips, taxis and organized transfers are useful alternatives.
When to go
From June to September, you’ll find the most suitable climate for the sea and most tourist services open; July and August, however, are the busiest and hottest months. May and the second half of September often offer a calmer atmosphere, even if the weather and sea temperatures can be less stable. In spring and autumn, check in advance the opening hours of accommodation, restaurants, and transport connections.
Where to eat
In coastal towns, look for seafood tavernas and try the catch of the day, asking the price and how it’s prepared before ordering. In the inland villages, it’s easy to find traditional Greek cuisine, with grilled meats, seasonal vegetables, and local cheeses. For a more casual meal, choose a bakery or grill house and sample specialties like souvlaki and pita. In summer, it’s advisable to book dinner at the more popular places.
Quick tips
- 01Bring water, a hat, and sunscreen with you: in summer the sun is intense and some beaches have little natural shade.
- 02Rent a car only if you feel comfortable on local roads and check the insurance coverage conditions before you set off.
- 03In high season, arrive early at the busiest beaches to find parking and a comfortable spot.
- 04Keep some cash for small purchases and parking, while still checking in advance which payment methods are accepted.
Wake up in the right place.
