Practical tips

  • For Evrostina, Trikala Korinthias, Lake Doxa and Stymphalia, a car is very useful: check your insurance coverage and the conditions for driving on mountain roads.
  • Bring walking shoes, reef shoes, a hat and water; beaches and archaeological sites often offer little shade.
  • The opening hours of museums, monasteries and archaeological sites can change depending on the season, day of the week and holidays: check them before you go.
  • In summer, book your accommodation and the most popular restaurants in advance; outside the high season, also check the availability of services in inland towns.
