This itinerary explores northern Corfu with stops grouped by area, so as to reduce transfers and devote time both to the sea and to inland landscapes. The first day is dedicated to the northwestern coast between Sidari and Peroulades; the second follows the northeastern shoreline from Kassiopi to Kalami. The last day climbs Mount Pantokrator and the historic village of Old Perithia, with timings suited to an unhurried visit. The car is the most practical way to get around, while in peak season it is useful to set off early and check on-site access, parking, and sea conditions.
Day 1 · Walking · 6.4 km · 80 min · Source: Mapbox · walking
Discover Sidari's coastal rock formations and end the day among the cliffs of Peroulades.
09:00
Departure for Sidari
Drive to Sidari and allow about 40–50 minutes from Corfu Town, depending on traffic and your starting point. Alternatively, check local buses: frequencies and connections can change depending on the season. The drive costs approximately €5–10 in fuel each way.
In summer, leave early: parking areas and road access to the beaches fill up quickly.
10:00
Walk in Sidari
Take a first look at the waterfront and the bay, observing the contrast between the pale rocks and the shallow waters. The area is well equipped and offers bars and facilities; a snack or coffee costs approximately €3–6.
Bring rock shoes if you plan to go into the water.
11:00
Canal d'Amour
Spend about an hour exploring the passages between the rock formations and the viewpoints overlooking the small coves. Access to the public areas is generally free, but swimming depends on sea conditions and the safety of the seabed. Avoid standing beneath unstable rock faces or diving in without checking the depth first.
The surfaces can be slippery: shoes with good grip are best.
12:30
Lunch in Sidari
Stop at a taverna in the center or along the seafront and choose a simple Greek dish, such as salad, the catch of the day, or souvlaki. Allow about €15–25 per person for a meal with a drink, depending on the place and what you order.
Ask whether the fish is sold by weight before ordering it.
14:30
Cape Drastis
Reach the headland by car in about 15–20 minutes; the last stretch may be narrow or rough, and you may need to continue on foot. From the viewpoint, you can see the cliffs shaped by the sea and the small coves below. The scenic visit is free; any boat trips have varying prices, often in the €20–40 range.
Check road conditions and do not get too close to the edge of the cliff.
16:30
Stop at Logas Beach
Head to Logas Beach, just a few minutes by car, to admire the coast from above or go down to the beach if access and sea conditions allow. The descent may involve steps and the beach is exposed: carefully assess the waves before stopping by the shore. Access is generally free; sunbeds and umbrellas, if available, may cost around €10–25 per couple.
Sunset time changes throughout the year: move this stop earlier or later for the best light.
19:00
Dinner and return
Have dinner in the Sidari or Peroulades area, then head back without adding any detours. For a casual dinner, budget around €18–30 per person; if driving after dark on rural roads, proceed carefully and watch out for poorly lit streets.
If you're staying elsewhere, agree in advance on a realistic time to head back.
Alternate the history of Kassiopi with the beaches and coves of the northeastern coast.
09:00
Arrival in Kassiopi
Spend the morning in Kassiopi, which can be reached by car from Sidari in about 45–55 minutes and from Corfu Town in about an hour. The village is compact and easy to explore on foot; allow about 5–10 € for fuel for the transfer, depending on your starting point.
Park in the designated areas and continue on foot toward the harbor.
10:00
Kassiopi Harbour
Stroll around the harbor, watching the fishing boats, pleasure craft, and the outline of the village. This is a no-ticket stop and takes about 30–45 minutes; coffee and drinks cost roughly 3–6 €.
In the morning, the walk is quieter and better for photos.
10:45
Kassiopi Castle
Walk to the remains of the castle, along an uphill path of about 10–15 minutes from the harbor. The walls and vegetation help reveal the fortress’s strategic position and offer views over the coast; access is generally free, but maintenance and site conditions may vary.
Wear closed shoes: the ground can be uneven.
12:00
Swimming at Bataria Beach
Head down to Bataria Beach, a small pebble cove a short distance from the center. Spend about an hour swimming and bring a mask and water shoes, as the seabed is rocky; access is free, while beach facilities may cost around 10–25 € for sunbeds and an umbrella.
Space is limited: in the peak months it’s best to arrive before noon.
13:30
Lunch in Kassiopi
Return to the harbor for lunch at a taverna and try local dishes or fish, always checking the price of items sold by weight. For a full meal, allow about 18–30 € per person, depending on the menu and drinks.
Booking can be useful in high season, especially for the tables by the harbor.
15:00
Avlaki Beach
Drive to Avlaki in about 10 minutes and stop for a break in a quieter, more open bay. The shoreline is mostly pebbles and the sea can be rough: bring water and check the conditions before swimming. The beach is free to access; any facilities are paid separately.
Park without blocking access points or service passages.
16:45
Kalami and The White House
Continue on to Kalami, about 20–25 minutes by car, and stroll along the bay promenade. From the outside, you can see The White House, a building tied to the history of writer Lawrence Durrell; respect privacy and any instructions, as this is not a museum visit freely guaranteed. The walk is free; a drink by the sea costs roughly 4–8 €.
For swimming, keep in mind that the beach is pebbly: water shoes are handy.
19:00
Dinner in Kalami or return
End with dinner in Kalami or head back to your accommodation. Budget about 18–30 € per person for a casual dinner and allow around 45–60 minutes driving time to get back to Corfu Town, depending on traffic.
If you’re driving, avoid planning alcohol tastings before heading back.
Explore a historic mountain village and reach Corfu’s highest point with a flexible itinerary.
08:30
Departure for the interior
Set off with water, sun protection and proper shoes: from Kassiopi it usually takes 30–40 minutes to Old Perithia, while from the western coastal towns the journey is longer. The mountain roads are narrow and winding; allow extra time and about 5–12 € for fuel for the day’s trips.
Before heading up, refuel and check the weather and visibility.
09:30
Walk in Old Perithia
Explore the historic village on foot, among stone houses, narrow lanes and churches, observing how the settlement blends into the mountain landscape. Visiting the village is generally free and takes about 1–2 hours; some establishments may be open only during certain seasons or hours.
Respect private buildings and bring cash for any purchases at local venues.
11:30
Stop around the village
Take advantage of the accessible trails and nearby viewpoints for a short walk, without straying if the route is not clearly marked. Allow 45–60 minutes and no entrance fee; water and shoes with sturdy soles are enough.
The heat and limited shade make it preferable to walk before the hottest hours.
12:45
Lunch in Old Perithia
Sit down at a village taverna, if open, to sample home-style cooking and local specialties. Lunch costs roughly 18–30 € per person; availability and menus may be limited outside the high season.
Contact the venue in advance if you are traveling in the low season or on a public holiday.
14:15
Ascent to Mount Pantokrator
Continue by car toward the summit with caution: the final stretch is mountainous, with bends and, in places, a narrow roadway. When visibility is good, the panorama takes in Corfu and the surrounding sea; the climb has no entrance ticket, but the time needed depends on the road and stops.
Avoid the ascent in thick fog, thunderstorms or unfavorable road conditions.
15:15
Monastery of Pantokrator
Visit the monastery and the summit viewpoint respectfully, especially if religious services are in progress. Access is generally free, but opening hours and visitor rules may change; allow about 45–60 minutes for the stop.
To enter places of worship, wear modest clothing and follow the posted instructions.
16:30
Return and scenic break
Head back slowly toward the coast or your accommodation, stopping only in areas where it is safe to park. The return to Kassiopi takes about 35–45 minutes; to Corfu Town it can take more than an hour, depending on traffic.
Do not plan to leave immediately after sunset: mountain roads are poorly lit.
