The itinerary runs from north to south, with each day focused on a specific area to limit travel: Canazei and Belvedere on the first day, Pozza and Vigo on the second, Moena and Passo San Pellegrino on the third. The upper elevations are reached by cable cars when they are operating; the suggested walks can be adjusted according to weather and fitness level, with indoor or village alternatives. To move between locations, you can use the car or the valley buses, checking routes and connections in advance. Times, openings, fares, and trail conditions are approximate and should be checked on official channels.
Day 1 · Walking · Not available · Source: Mapbox · walking
Discover the center of Canazei and reach Belvedere by lift, enjoying the Dolomite scenery without tackling a long uphill walk.
09:00
Arrival and a stroll in Canazei
Spend the morning in the town center, among alpine-style houses, shops, and views of the surrounding peaks. Allow about 45–60 minutes for a relaxed visit; breakfast at the café may cost around €5–10.
If you arrive by car, check parking and local parking regulations in advance.
10:00
Church of San Floriano
Walk to the church in the historic center and admire its facade and architectural features, while respecting religious services. The visit is short and free, but access may depend on celebrations and opening times.
Check on site for any access instructions.
10:45
Ascent toward Belvedere
From the Canazei station, take the cable car to Pecol and continue with the lifts scheduled for Belvedere: the overall journey may take about 15–25 minutes, waiting times excluded. A round-trip ticket may cost around €25–40; lifts and trails are seasonal and weather-dependent.
Check the official website for dates, connections and prices. In strong winds or if the lifts are closed, stay in the village and visit Dòlaondes.
11:30
Scenic walk at altitude
From the Belvedere, choose a short marked route suited to the day’s conditions, stopping at the viewpoints facing the Sella group and the nearby peaks. High-altitude hikes can involve exposed sections and varying elevation gain: check conditions before setting off and do not leave the trails.
In case of thunderstorms, fog or snow, cancel the walk and descend by lift.
13:00
Lunch at altitude or return to Canazei
Have lunch at an open hut or restaurant along the ski area, budgeting roughly €18–35 per person for a meal. Facilities and menus change with the season, so do not rely on a single place without first checking that it is open.
Bring water and a warm layer: at altitude, temperatures can be noticeably lower.
15:30
Return and a break at Dòlaondes
Head back to Canazei by lift and, if you’d like an indoor break, make your way to the Dòlaondes water centre. Allow roughly €15–30 for admission, with duration, services and prices to be checked directly with the facility.
If you prefer an afternoon outdoors, stroll through the town centre and keep Dòlaondes as a backup in case of rain.
19:00
Dinner in Canazei
End the day with dinner in town, trying Trentino dishes and Ladin specialties. A meal at a restaurant can cost around €25–45 per person, drinks excluded; reservations and menus depend on the season.
If you’re staying in Pozza, head back by car or local bus: the journey takes around 15–20 minutes, depending on traffic and stops.
Delve deeper into Ladin history between Pozza and Vigo, leaving the afternoon flexible between the mountains and the thermal baths.
09:45
Local bus to the Museo Ladin de Fascia
From Pozza, reach the museum area by local bus or car; the transfer takes around 5–15 minutes, depending on the stop and traffic. A single bus ticket can cost about €2–5, to be confirmed with the operator.
Check the updated bus schedules and plan your return before the visit.
10:00
Visit to the Museo Ladin de Fascia
Spend about 1–1.5 hours exploring the collections that tell the story of the Ladin language, traditions, and everyday life; admission is typically €5–10. This schedule applies on summer days, when the museum also opens in the morning from 10:00: at other times, the stated opening is in the afternoon and it is closed on Saturdays.
Outside the summer season, reverse the day: Vigo and Buffaure in the morning, the museum in the afternoon; check times and days on the Istituto Ladin website.
11:30
Vigo di Fassa and St. John’s Church
Travel to Vigo by local bus or car in about 5–10 minutes, and take your time exploring the center. The church is one of the town’s points of interest; plan a short visit and check on site whether the interior is accessible.
For a walk between the two locations, check the route and conditions first; the bus is the easiest option.
12:30
Lunch between Vigo and Pozza
Choose an open restaurant or mountain hut in the area, favoring a menu featuring local products. Allow roughly €18–35 per person; opening times and availability may vary depending on the season.
If you want to head higher up in the afternoon, ask the restaurant to recommend a lunch that is not too heavy.
14:00
Buffaure lift and walk
From Pozza, reach the Buffaure lift station by car or bus; the cable car lets you quickly gain altitude, but it operates only in specific periods and conditions. A round-trip ticket can cost roughly €20–35; on site, choose a short itinerary suited to the weather, checking the elevation gain and trail conditions.
If the lifts are closed or the weather is bad, skip the ascent and spend more time at the museum, in the villages, or at the spa.
17:30
Relax at QC Terme Dolomiti
Return to Pozza and reserve the late afternoon for the spa center, if it is open and has availability. Admission can range roughly from €50 to €90; check the official channel for time slots, booking methods, and included services.
Booking and entry are subject to the facility’s rules; alternatively, relax at the hotel or take a stroll through town.
20:00
Dinner in Pozza di Fassa
End the day with dinner in town, budgeting roughly €25–45 per person. After the spa, leave yourself time to change and reach the restaurant without rushing.
Check kitchen opening hours and book in periods of higher demand.
Explore Moena and reach Passo San Pellegrino for a high-altitude walk, keeping a simple backup option in case of bad weather.
08:30
Transfer to Moena
From Pozza, reach Moena by car or with the local valley bus: allow roughly 25–40 minutes, depending on traffic, stops, and connections. The bus fare can vary roughly from €3 to €8 per ride; check updated routes and timetables.
Do not plan to walk between villages: use a vehicle and check the return services.
09:15
Stroll through the center of Moena
Spend about an hour in the center, among squares, shop windows, and views of the mountains surrounding the village. For breakfast or a coffee break, budget roughly €5–10.
If the rain keeps falling, stay in the village and consider skipping the ascent to the pass.
10:30
Transfer to Passo San Pellegrino
From Moena, continue by car or with the seasonal bus to Passo San Pellegrino, about 20–30 minutes roughly. In winter, road conditions and transport links can change: check road status, weather, and transport service before leaving.
If you can't find a suitable ride, consider using the car or staying in Moena; do not improvise a transfer on foot.
11:00
Panoramic view at Passo San Pellegrino
Explore the pass area with a short walk nearby, choosing open trails that suit the weather. The elevation is around 1,900 meters: wind, lingering snow and thunderstorms can make some routes impassable.
If the lifts are closed or the weather turns bad, limit your stop to the pass and head back to Moena for an indoor visit.
11:45
Walk to Rifugio Fuciade
From the pass, reach Rifugio Fuciade on foot along the marked trail, taking roughly 45–60 minutes each way, with a moderate elevation gain that varies depending on the route and conditions. The trail and the hut are seasonal: check opening times, snow conditions and whether the path is passable; wear suitable shoes and allow enough time for the return.
If the route is not safe or the hut is closed, skip the walk and choose a short flat route near the pass, only if it is accessible.
13:00
Lunch at the hut or at the pass
If Rifugio Fuciade is open, stop there for lunch; otherwise head back to the pass and look for an open place to eat. Budget roughly €20–40 per person, without assuming there will be seats available or a specific menu.
Bring a snack and water, especially outside the peak hut season.
15:30
Return to Moena and break
Go back to the pass and descend to Moena by car or bus, allowing about 20–30 minutes for the transfer from the pass, plus any waiting time. Once in town, you can have a snack or take a short walk before heading back to your base.
Check the last available departure to Pozza or plan to return by car.
17:30
Return and end of the trip
From Moena, return to Pozza or continue on to your destination by car or local bus; for Pozza, allow roughly 25–40 minutes. If the weather has prevented the excursion, use the extra time for a longer visit to Moena and a stop at a local café.
Before leaving, check for any changes to transport services and road conditions.
