The day begins in Limenas, where the museum and archaeological site can be visited comfortably on foot before heading inland and toward the eastern coast. Panagia offers a break amid the distinctive mountain landscape, while Golden Beach and Saliara Beach round off the itinerary between sea and panoramic views. A car is the most practical way to connect the stops; opening hours for cultural sites and road conditions for Saliara can change with the season.

Discover the main ancient remains of Limenas and alternate a visit to Panagia with two stops along the eastern coast.
10:00
Thasos Archaeological Museum
Spend about an hour among the collections, which help tell the island’s history through sculptures, pottery, and finds from local sites. The museum is in the center of Limenas and can be reached on foot from the port; check opening hours and seasonal schedules before visiting. Indicative admission: 5–10 €.
Bring water and keep in mind that some areas may have restricted access or reduced hours out of season.
11:15
Ancient Agora of Thasos
Walk to the archaeological area, just a few minutes from the museum, and take your time exploring the remains of the ancient civic and religious center. Allow about 60–75 minutes, taking into account the uneven ground and possible sun exposure. Indicative admission: 0–8 €, depending on the rates and access arrangements in effect.
Shoes with sturdy soles: the route includes stones and uneven stretches.
12:45
Transfer and walk in Panagia
From Limenas, drive to Panagia: the trip usually takes about 15–20 minutes. Stroll through the village streets, admire the traditional houses, and stop in the main square; allow about 45 minutes for an unhurried visit. Parking may take a few minutes during busier periods.
Respect the village’s peace and quiet, especially in the residential lanes.
13:30
Lunch in Panagia
Stop at a village tavern for a Greek lunch with salad, vegetables, cheeses, or grilled dishes. Plan on about 60–75 minutes and a rough cost of 15–25 € per person, depending on your choices and drinks. After lunch, head back toward the coast, just a few kilometers away.
In high season, it can be helpful to ask for a table as soon as you arrive.
15:00
Afternoon at Golden Beach
Head to Golden Beach, on Chrysi Ammoudia Bay, for a stop of about an hour and a half. The beach is long and sandy, with equipped areas and more open stretches; renting sun loungers and an umbrella can cost roughly 10–25 € for two people, depending on the beach bar and the time of year. For a break without facilities, bring water and sun protection with you.
Parking spaces and beach spots fill up quickly on summer days.
17:00
Stop at Saliara Beach
Continue to Saliara Beach, also known as Marble Beach because of its light pebbles. From the coastal junction, the road can be unpaved and rough: allow about 30–45 minutes from Golden Beach and check before setting off whether the conditions are suitable for your vehicle. Set aside about an hour and a half for the beach; access to the shoreline is usually free, while facilities and sun loungers, if available, have variable prices.
Don’t rely only on the GPS: check the road conditions and drive slowly on the dirt track.
19:00
Return to Limenas and dinner
Head back to Limenas, allowing about 30–45 minutes from Saliara depending on the road and traffic. End with a stroll along the harbor and dinner at a tavern: budget roughly 18–30 € per person, depending on the menu. If you have a ferry in the evening, leave extra time for the return trip and to reach the boarding area.
Avoid driving when tired after a day in the sun, and check the ferry times if relevant.
