Getting around
To reach Malevizi, the most convenient base is Heraklion, connected to nearby areas by intercity buses and local services. Services to Gazi and Ammoudara are generally more frequent than those heading directly to the villages and bays along the coast, so check timetables and stops before setting off. A rental car offers greater freedom to explore places such as Agia Pelagia and , as well as inland areas. Keep in mind that some roads are narrow and winding, especially inland.
