Getting around
The center of Arghos Orestiko is compact and easy to explore on foot. To discover the surrounding area and get to Kastoria with more freedom, a car is the most practical option. Bus connections are available, but frequencies and timetables can vary: check them in advance, especially on weekends. Taxis and rental cars can be useful if you are not traveling with your own vehicle.
When to go
Spring and early autumn offer generally mild temperatures and are pleasant times to visit the city and its surroundings. Summer can be hot, while winter is cold and sometimes snowy, as often happens in the mountainous inland of Western Macedonia. If you travel in winter, bring warm clothes and check road conditions.
