Day 1 – From the port to Chora, then the sea

09:00–19:00 Easy walks, transfers to plan

Discover Anafi’s main village and end the day on the beaches of the southern coast.

09:00

Agios Nikolaos Port

Set aside around 30–45 minutes at the port, watching the boats, the coastline, and the arrival of ferry connections. To reach Chora, a few kilometers away and uphill, consider the bus or a taxi: as a rough guide, the bus may cost around 2–5 € and a taxi about 10–20 € per ride, if available.

Check ferry schedules and any overland connections in advance: frequencies and availability may vary.

10:00

Chora of Anafi

Allow around two hours to wander through the narrow streets, whitewashed houses, sea views, and scenic viewpoints of the village; the roads are sloped and partly paved. You can stop here for a simple lunch, roughly 12–25 € per person, and then arrange the return to the coast by bus or taxi, typically 2–20 € depending on the mode of transport and availability.

For opening hours, any visits to buildings or services and transport links, check the latest official or local information.

14:00

Klisidi Beach

Set aside about an hour and a half to swim or relax on the beach, which can be reached from the port area with a short transfer and a walk. Access to the beach is usually free; budget around €3–8 for water and a snack bought nearby, if available.

Bring water, sunscreen and a towel: natural shade can be limited.

16:30

Katsouni Beach

From Klisidi, continue on foot along the coastal path toward Katsouni, allowing around 20–30 minutes each way and checking trail conditions before setting off. Stop for the view and, if the sea and access allow, for one last swim; the beach is free, while water and snacks brought with you may cost around €3–8 in total.

Wear suitable walking shoes and return with plenty of daylight left; to get back to the port, consider walking or taking a taxi arranged in advance.

  • Bring water, a hat and sunscreen with you, especially for the walking sections and beaches with little shade.
  • For the route to Katsouni, wear suitable shoes and check the conditions of the trail and the sea.
  • Check official websites or local operators for any schedules, fares and service availability before your visit.
