Discover Agistri’s two main centers and end the day with a swim stop on the coast.
10:00
Skala
Start from the port and follow the waterfront, watching the boats and the architecture of the center; allow about 1–2 hours for a relaxed walk and breakfast or coffee. Skala is also the most practical base for planning the rest of the day and checking transportation options on site. The walk is free; coffee and breakfast can cost roughly €4–10.
If you arrive by ferry, check connections and schedules in advance on the operator’s official channels: the timetable provided is indicative.
12:30
Megalochori
Reach Megalochori on foot from Skala in about 20–30 minutes, along the road connecting the two centers, or take a local taxi if you prefer to avoid the walk. Set aside about 1–2 hours for the alleys, traditional houses, and views over the harbor; stop here for lunch, budgeting roughly €12–25 for a simple meal. Visiting the village is free; any food or drinks are extra.
Bring water and sun protection, especially if you walk the road during the hottest hours.
16:00
Chalikiada Beach
From Megalochori, head back toward Skala and continue on foot to the entrance of the Chalikiada trail: allow about 25–35 minutes in total for the transfer, depending on your starting point and pace. The descent to the beach is steep and uneven; once you arrive, allow 2–3 hours for swimming and relaxing, bringing water and anything else you need, as facilities may be limited. Access to the beach is free; snacks and drinks bought before the descent can cost about €3–10.
Wear shoes with good grip and leave enough time to climb back up and return to Skala before the ferry. Check the official return times in advance.
Explore two corners of the western coast of Agistri, alternating a relaxed walk with time to unwind on the beach.
10:00
Scliri
Set aside about two hours for the Scliri area, taking your time on the trails among the pines and the spots that open onto sea views. If you’re starting from Skala, you can reach the area on foot in about 10–20 minutes, depending on your starting point, and you should wear shoes suitable for uneven ground. For an informal lunch break, budget roughly €10–20 per person, depending on what you order and the venue.
Bring water and sunscreen: even on shaded paths, exposure can still change.
14:00
Dragonera Beach
Reach Dragonera from Skala by local bus or taxi, allowing about 10–20 minutes for the trip and checking the route and availability on the spot; the cost can range from a few euros for the bus to around €10–20 for a taxi ride. Spend the afternoon swimming and relaxing on the beach, bringing water and a snack: allow about €5–15 for refreshments, if available, plus any rentals. Head back in good time to enjoy the late-afternoon light and check transport options for the return in advance.
Check sea conditions and whether any facilities are available before you leave; bus schedules and connections may vary.
Discover a traditional village of Agistri and spend the afternoon on the coast at Aponisos.
10:00
Limenaria
Get to Limenaria from Skala by local bus, if the connection is available, or by taxi: allow about 15–25 minutes and check times and fares on site. Spend about two hours walking among the village houses and quiet lanes, taking in the local architecture and the village church; breakfast or coffee can cost roughly €3–8. For lunch, plan on about €12–25 per person, depending on your choice and drinks.
Wear comfortable shoes and bring cash: service availability and card acceptance may vary.
14:15
Aponisos
From Limenaria, continue to Aponisos by local bus, if running, or by taxi; the journey takes roughly 10–20 minutes, but it’s a good idea to confirm the route and fare before setting off. Set aside the afternoon for swimming in the sheltered waters, admiring the rocky coastline, and relaxing; bring a snorkel mask and water shoes, as access to the sea can be rocky. Factor in a possible entrance fee or beach-service charge, typically €5–12, plus €3–8 for a drink or snack. Toward evening, head back to Skala with time to spare for the ferry: if the local services don’t match your schedule, consider a taxi.
Check the timetables for connections and the latest fares in advance on official websites or with local operators.
Alternate a relaxing stop by the sea with a walking visit inland on Agistri.
10:00
Mareza
Spend about two hours along the coast, choosing a suitable spot to stop, take in the sea, and go for a swim if conditions allow; check on site what kind of access and facilities are available. From Skala or Megalochori, you can continue by taxi or rental vehicle, taking roughly 15–25 minutes depending on your starting point; a local ride may cost around €10–20. Allow an estimated €0–15 for any refreshments or beach services.
Bring water, sunscreen, and footwear suitable for any rocky stretches; check transport options in advance.
15:30
Metochi
After a lunch break, reach Metochi from Mareza by taxi or rental vehicle: the transfer can take about 15–25 minutes, depending on the road and traffic. Spend an hour and a half on a leisurely stroll through the village streets, admiring the traditional houses, vegetation, and scenic viewpoints over the Saronic Gulf. A stop for coffee or a drink may cost around €3–7; for the return to the port, budget for another local ride, with a variable fare.
The roads can be steep: comfortable shoes and checking return connections ahead of time are helpful.
Alternate a morning at the sea on Agistri with a boat trip to Moni Island.
09:00
Magiza Beach
Dedicate about two hours to the beach, allowing time for swimming and taking in the rocky coastline: bring reef shoes if the seabed calls for them. Reach it from your accommodation by taxi, a rental vehicle, or a local connection, checking availability and the route on site; budget roughly EUR 5–20 for a taxi transfer and no beach entrance fee. Have breakfast or a snack before you leave and bring water, as available services can vary.
Around 11:00–11:30, head to the boarding point agreed with the operator; leave extra time for the transfer and boarding.
12:30
Excursion to Moni Island
Join a boat trip from Agistri or, if the service isn’t available on your chosen date, arrange the transfer via Aegina in advance: departure port, duration, and return depend on the operator and the sea conditions. Set aside roughly 3–4 hours for the sailing and the stop on the island; on Moni you can swim and enjoy the scenery, bringing water, sunscreen, and everything you need. For the boat, expect around EUR 20–45 per person as an indicative estimate, and check itinerary, price, and availability directly with the operator.
Return to Agistri with enough time to spare before dinner; check sea conditions in advance and official guidance for any tickets or access requirements.
Visit Aegina’s two signature sites and return to Agistri the same day, as long as the available connections allow it.
09:30
Temple of Aphaia (Aegina)
Get to Aegina’s port from Agistri by boat and continue to the site by taxi or rental car: the road transfer takes roughly 25–35 minutes, depending on your starting point and traffic. Allow about 60–90 minutes for the Doric temple and the remains of the sanctuary, taking in the panoramic setting between the coast and the pine forest; admission may cost around EUR 6–10. For opening hours and tickets, check the official information before you leave.
Arrange the round-trip transfer in advance: land connections can be limited and boat services vary by season.
13:30
Monastery of Saint Nectarios (Aegina)
From the Temple of Aphaia, reach the monastery by car or taxi, allowing roughly 25–35 minutes on the road. Plan for 45–75 minutes to visit the accessible areas respectfully, see the church, and learn about the devotion to Saint Nectarios; admission may be free, while a donation is optional. For lunch, fit in a stop in Aegina town before or after the visit, without straying far from the route to the port.
Modest clothing and respectful behavior are recommended; check the website or official channels for any visitor guidelines.
Explore Aegina’s port and head to Agistri for a scenic walk between Skala and Milos.
10:00
Aegina Town (Port)
Spend about an hour along the waterfront and piers, watching the movement of fishing boats and vessels bound for nearby islands. Treat this stop as your starting point: arrive at the port early and continue by ferry to Skala on Agistri; the crossing is short, but the duration and connections depend on the service you choose. As a rough estimate, a passenger ticket for the Aegina–Agistri route can cost around €4–10 per trip; check schedules and fares on the operator’s official website.
The itinerary assumes you have already arrived in Aegina by 10:00; also check in advance the last useful return service.
13:00
Skala-Milos coastal walk
From Skala, follow the coastal route toward Milos, that is, Megalochori, alternating stretches along the waterfront with stops at accessible points near the water; allow around 2–3 hours to walk at a relaxed pace and take breaks, with the distance varying depending on the route you choose. Along the way, take in the small coves, the boats, and the silhouette of the two towns; bring water and sun protection, as shade can be limited. The walk is free; budget roughly €10–20 for a simple meal or a drink break, plus the return ferry to Aegina, also approximately €4–10 per trip.
Return to Skala with enough time for the ferry departure: do not rely on an assumed schedule and check the updated sailings before you start walking.
