Day 1 – Livadia and the Lethra coastal path

10:00–19:00 Walks and light hiking

Getting acquainted with the island and reaching one of its secluded bays on foot.

10:00

Livadia

Spend about two hours around the harbor and promenade, watching the boats, the outline of the bay, and the streets of the center. It’s a practical base for organizing the following days; budget around €2–5 for a coffee or drink and a variable amount for lunch.

If you need to rent a vehicle or arrange a taxi, take care of it here and check availability and fares.

12:00

Lethra Beach

From the Livadia area, follow the coastal footpath toward the bay; allow roughly 45–75 minutes each way, with stops and timing varying according to the terrain and the heat. At the beach you can swim and rest before heading back: there is no known entrance fee for the route, while any refreshments depend on the services available on site.

Bring water, sun protection, and suitable shoes; check the trail conditions locally and do not tackle it during the hottest hours.

Day 2 – Megalo Chorio, historical remnants and ancient village

09:00–19:00 Walks with short transfers

Exploring the island’s historic core and inland sites, organizing the stops into a single outing.

09:00

Megalo Chorio

Reach the village from Livadia by local transport, taxi, or rental vehicle: the indicative journey time is about 20–30 minutes, to be checked according to the road and the service chosen. Stroll among the traditional houses and narrow lanes, allowing about an hour; exploring the village is free, while breakfast and snacks have variable costs.

If you’re traveling by bus, check the updated timetables and plan your return before leaving Livadia.

10:30

Knights' Castle

From the village, head up toward the castle ruins along a steep and uneven path, for a total visit of about 60–90 minutes including the climb, time at the site, and the descent. At the top, the surviving structures stand out and the landscape of the island opens up; don’t assume there are services or regulated access, and consider the cost of the visit to be €0 if the area is freely accessible.

Wear shoes with good grip and check on site for any safety notices or access restrictions.

13:00

Harkadio Cave

Continue toward the cave using your chosen transport and allow about 10–20 minutes for the transfer, plus time to find your bearings and visit the area. The site is linked to the archaeological finds of Tilos: take in the setting and the posted information, without crossing fences or unauthorized access points; any costs or visiting arrangements should be checked in advance, while lunch nearby may cost roughly €10 to €20.

Consult official sources for up-to-date information on accessibility, visiting, and tickets.

16:00

Mikro Chorio

Reach the abandoned village and walk carefully along the paths among the ruined houses, allowing about an hour for the visit and the views toward the coast. Access to the area may not require a ticket, but the transfer cost depends on the means of transport; bring water with you and do not enter the buildings, which may be unstable.

The late afternoon light is pleasant for photographs; plan to head back before dark, as some areas may be poorly lit.

Day 3 – The monastery and the western coast

09:00–18:30 Scenic transfer and relaxing afternoon

Visit the monastery in the northern area and end the trip with a beach stop at Eristos.

09:00

Monastery of Agios Panteleimonas

Depart from Livadia by car or taxi and allow roughly 35–50 minutes on the road, depending on the route and conditions. Spend about an hour at the complex and in the surrounding landscape, respecting the religious character of the place; for any donations, entry fees, or visit costs, do not assume a set price and check official information.

Check road conditions, access methods, and dress-code guidance in advance.

13:30

Eristos Beach

Reach the bay by car or taxi and spend the afternoon swimming and relaxing on the long beach, taking in the open outline of the western coast. A beach stop does not necessarily require an entrance fee, while any sunbeds, drinks, or meals may cost around €5–20 depending on the services chosen; allow about 30–45 minutes to return to Livadia, to be confirmed on site.

Bring water and sun protection, and arrange your return in advance if you do not have your own vehicle.
