Psili Ammos Beach

Getting around
Karystos town center and the seafront are easy to explore on foot. To reach beaches, archaeological sites and inland villages, a car offers greater freedom; alternatively, taxis and buses are available, but it’s worth checking timetables and connections in advance. Services may be less frequent outside the peak season. If you’re traveling by car, keep in mind that some secondary roads are narrow or unpaved.
When to go
From May to June and from September to October, the weather is generally pleasant and the beaches are less crowded. July and August are ideal for a seaside holiday, but temperatures can be high and places are busier. In summer, strong winds can blow: check the forecast, especially if you’re planning boat trips or beach days.
Where to eat
Around the port and in the town center, you’ll find tavernas and restaurants serving fish, seafood, and Greek dishes. Inland, meat-based options and local ingredients are also common. For a quieter meal, head away from the seafront and ask what the dishes of the day are: the catch and availability can vary.
