Kamena Vourla Seafront
The seafront runs along the coast with beaches, cafés, and tavernas overlooking the Gulf of Euboea. It is especially lovely at sunset, when the sea and mountains are bathed in golden light.
Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Saviour (Moni Metamorfoseos Sotiros)
Set on the mountain slopes above the town, the monastery offers a peaceful atmosphere and wide views over the coast. A visit also lets you appreciate the mountainous landscape surrounding Kamena Vourla.
Port of Agios Konstantinos
In the nearby coastal town of Agios Konstantinos, there is a port from which ferry connections depart for the islands. The village is also a pleasant place for a walk by the sea and a stop at a taverna.
Lichadonisia Islands
This small volcanic archipelago, reachable by boat from the coast, is known for its clear waters and sheltered coves. In summer, it is one of the most memorable excursions in the area.
Thermopylae Monument

How to get around
The center of Kamena Vourla is compact and easy to get around on foot, especially for reaching the seafront, shops, and many hotels. To explore the beaches and surrounding area, a car offers greater freedom; the resort is connected to the national road between Athens and Thessaloniki. KTEL intercity buses serve the area, but it is advisable to check stops and timetables in advance, as they may vary by season. Taxis are also available for short trips. In summer, expect more traffic and less ease finding parking near the sea.
When to go
Spring and early autumn are ideal for enjoying the mild climate and visiting the surrounding area with fewer crowds. Summer is the best time for beach life, but it can be hot and busier, especially on weekends. The thermal springs are also an attraction outside the bathing season: check in advance which facilities are open and their opening hours.
Where to eat
Along the seafront and in the streets of the center, you'll find tavernas and eateries where you can try fish, seafood, and Greek dishes, as well as meat dishes and mezedes to share. For a relaxed meal, compare the menus on display and choose according to the season and the catch available. In high season, it may be wise to book in the evening, especially at places overlooking the sea.
