Timios Prodromos Monastery

Iraklia is located in the inland part of Central Macedonia, in the Serres region: to explore the surrounding area freely, a car is the most practical solution. The town center can be easily visited on foot, but to reach places and attractions outside the village it is best to plan ahead. Serres is a useful reference point for connections and services; check bus timetables and availability before departure, especially on weekends and out of season. If you are arriving by car, consider the distances and plan fuel stops along the way.
When to go
Spring and early autumn are ideal for visiting Iraklia and the surrounding area, with generally milder temperatures and pleasant conditions for excursions.
