Guide to Almopia
ALMOPIA · ITINERARY

Almopia (Pella, Central Macedonia, Greece) in 3 days – Complete Itinerary

3 days / 2 nights · Thermal baths, nature, villages, culture

This itinerary uses Aridaia as a base and organizes the visits by area to keep travel to a minimum: the first day is dedicated to the center and local history, the second to the Pozar thermal springs and the surroundings of Loutraki, and the third to the villages in the northern inland area. Distances are short, but to explore the rural areas it is advisable to have a car. The thermal baths are a central stop: it’s a good idea to bring a swimsuit, sandals, and a towel, and to check opening hours and pool availability in advance.

Practical tips

  • For thermal baths, villages and the monastery, a car offers greater flexibility; check road conditions on minor roads and public transport connections in advance.
  • Check the updated opening hours for the museum, the speleological park, the pools and the monastery: they may change depending on the season or day of the week.
  • Bring a swimsuit, towel, flip-flops and a dry change of clothes for the thermal baths; for the trails, choose shoes with non-slip soles.
  • In villages and places of worship, dress respectfully and ask permission before photographing people or indoor spaces.
