How to get around
The center of Chalkida can be explored comfortably on foot, especially the seafront, the old bridge, and the nearby streets. The city is connected to the mainland by bridges, so it can be reached by car or train from Athens; check the latest schedules before you leave. To get around to beaches and places outside the center, a car, taxis, or local buses are useful. In summer, allow extra time for traffic and for finding parking.
