11:15
Chora (centre historique)
Explore for about 1 h 30 min the little squares, pedestrian passages and white houses of the center, lingering on the details of the facades and the views opening between the alleys. Get around on foot: the streets of the historic core are better suited to a visit without a car. Include a coffee break here, roughly €3–6, and a simple lunch in a tavern, about €15–25 per person, choosing according to the day’s menu.
Wear comfortable shoes and bring water: the surface of the alleys can be uneven and stone-paved.
13:30
Quartier de Kastro
Dedicate about 1 hour to the walk through the medieval core, recognizable by its compact layout and the attached houses that form a kind of inhabited enclosure. Proceed calmly through the accesses and passages, respecting the quiet of residential areas and observing arches, thresholds and glimpses of the landscape. The visit is on foot and does not require a ticket; if needed, allow for a drink or a stop nearby for around €3–7.
Chora and Kastro are adjacent: no dedicated transfer is needed.
17:30
Église de la Panagia
From Chora, walk to the church following the uphill route, in about 15–25 minutes depending on your pace; allow 45–60 minutes in total for the climb, the stop and the return. From the top, observe the outline of the center, the arid hills and the sea: the late-afternoon light can enhance the view, but sunset time varies throughout the year. Consider a possible donation of €1–3 and check official channels for any updated information on access and visits.
The climb is exposed to the sun and can be steep: bring water and check the weather; plan to return to Chora on foot before dinner.
